No, this is a slightly annoying feature in CarPlay that has no known solution.

 

I don't think it's an issue with CarPlay, I think it's the Honda/GM OS as CarPlay mutes the radio in other cars I have used it in.

 

Make a complaint to Honda Customer Service. They will probably tell you to call HHE or go to your Dealership Service Department. Honda could save money just putting that on recording rather than pay people to say it. It is a worthless Customer Service Department

Agreed, my other Hondas all do this correctly. When I said "it's a CarPlay issue" I meant "in how Honda implemented it", not Apple CarPlay itself.

 

Lurking here as a ZDX EV owner, as comparable forums for that car has very little activity. Had two 2024 MDXs and a host of CarPlay compatible cars beforehand. Only my ZDX doesn’t mute other audio playing when initiating SIRI, reading texts, etc. Definitely not a CarPlay issue. But rather, an issue with the Prologue and ZDX software configurations (betting it is also present with the Chevy Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq).

Perhaps I got it wrong.

But let’s not digress too far from the OP’s issue and my acknowledging that it is exists also in the ZDX version on Honda’s platform. Main intent of my post!
