Reports from the Prologue Reddit group that there is a new software update for the infotainment system. You can see the TSB here. Includes mentions of the memory seats, removing the non-existent feature listing for “Valet Mode”, among other changes.

Additionally, the same post mentioned:
”Also, there is a Job Aid (not sure why it's not a TSB) for Vehicle-Wide update, that also fixes a bunch of stuff, including Adaptive Cruise false positives and generally improving forward facing camera and radar performance.”

However, the bad news is that according to the source, who seems to work at a Honda dealer, the dealer has to install these updates. I dont want to be the first guinea pig who has to convince a dealer to install these for me. Anyone want to make the first attempt and report back?

This is the problem with Honda. They won’t do software updates unless it fixes a customer complaint or is a recall.
They don’t have the mentality that other EV brands do that these fixes generally improve the car.
I’m anticipating having to fight with my dealer about it.
If anyone knows of a Honda dealer in SoCal that won’t be awful about this, please let me know.

If I’m reading it correctly it only applies to the 2024 prologue. Do any of the 2025 owners see any issues with the infotainment software
That’s my read too. At least for the TSB. Thw whole vehicle update may be for all model years.

I would recommend complaining about something in the TSB. The guy who posted this on Reddit mentioned how he is a Honda tech and the company has a different philosophy:
“They are telling us technicians that for any weird Prologue issue, check for updates to the affected system, because GM's update philosophy is different than Honda's.
Honda rarely issues updates unless there is a specific problem to be fixed, and then issues a service bulletin for that specific issue. GM is apparently constantly pushing software updates, often with no explanation (to us) of what the update actually fixes. At least that is what it seems like from a ground level perspective.”

It’s one of the problems I see with Honda. My experience with other brands is that a vehicle brought in for any service will trigger an outstanding recall or TSB in the computer system. They are then updated as part of the service. It seems Honda’s position is to not be proactive, but wait until the customer complains. I guess they save the .9 hours they’d have to pay the dealership.

I know on all of my cars the dealership checks for updates when it is in for anything else. Now, if Honda doesn’t put out an update, of course there are no updates done. I will wait but my experience while having this car may influence me to try something else when it is time to get rid of it.

Interesting. I just dropped of my Prologue this morning for false readings that trigger auto braking and false warnings. Fortunately, I just use it for warnings/pop-up messages only. I got tired of the phantom braking. I have not used the cruise control or collision avoidance since December. Maybe the dealership will install the updates to possibly correct my problems.

I verified with my service department manager that the update is available. I will call tomorrow for an appointment. It will probably take a couple weeks to get in. After it is done, I will report back. It isn’t something that is necessary for everyone. Getting rid of the Valet selection makes me think it may just be for cars with a production date of May 2024 or earlier

I dropped my car off this morning. Hope to have it back soon. The technician ran into an issue trying to update the car and they had to put in a call to the Honda tech hotline. I got that call 2 hours ago and the software update is supposed to take 90 minutes. If your car will be the first car your dealership tries the update on, make sure you get a early morning appointment

Just got back from dealership, I asked head service guy, he knew nothing about this and he owns a Prologue. Said updates should come over air and their dealership has not been notified, and they are not some podunk dealership. Maybe has not been rolled out everywhere, maybe it is a chevy thing, but as of right now, no word.

Mine does not have it, (October 2024). And my seats move as they should. I like the feature because I like my seats high and I would hit my head if they didn't lower and go back in exit mode.

Just got back from the dealership. The update cost me nothing as it should be. They did both the update and the job aid. Memory seat settings were erased in the update but once set, work. The exit seems to go back further. I no longer have Valet Mode ( but that was just a clean up anyway since it wasn’t functional). Not certain on the remaining improvements. I will have to get more familiar with what it was supposed to improve. All of us early birds should definitely get it done. I am not sure whether the fixes are for vehicles produced after May 2024 but they may be.

I am surprised. Look in Settings/Vehicle/ and it should be the 2nd or third one if you have it. Should be above Teen Driver mode.
What trim do you have? If you have a Touring or Elite, do the seats move into position once you turn on the car?

Update on my trip to dealership. I got there at 12:15pm. I was there 2 hours, then they said it was taking a long time to download so they got me an Uber.
They told me I was the first one to bring a Prologue in, so they were learning as they go, plus their internet is slow.
They called me around 5pm, to pick up the car. The tech said Honda told them there is an element of the firmware/software that has been added and without it there can be issues causing malfunctions. So, they never completed it. They will call me next week when they get the complete download.

That element of the firmware/software is probably the Job Aid. I turned my car in at 8am. I always wait for my car but got an inkling that this was going to not be a 90 minute job so I took their courtesy van home. I got a call at 10:14 saying they were having issues and trying to get up with Honda tech line. I got a call at 2:47 saying that they would be through in 40 minutes and would call me. At about 4pm I got tired of waiting and asked my wife to drive me there. At 4:40 they were driving my car around to the front of the dealership for me. I talked to the Service Manager and asked him if they had installed the Job Assist as well. He printed it out and spoke to the shop foreman and technician and confirmed that they did. You don’t want to take their courtesy van car in on an afternoon. The number one problem them had was the interfacing the Honda and GM computers

Well, a new discovery! If there is one thing I hate it is an audible alarm without a visual. It happened frequently with this car. Well, this morning, the car thought I should stop (I have aggressive regen set and was on the verge of bringing my foot off of the accelerator). I get a familiar chirp and also the flashing of the word BRAKE. The car is conservative but I appreciate the warning. At least now I know what those chirps mean.
