Well, a new discovery! If there is one thing I hate it is an audible alarm without a visual. It happened frequently with this car. Well, this morning, the car thought I should stop (I have aggressive regen set and was on the verge of bringing my foot off of the accelerator). I get a familiar chirp and also the flashing of the word BRAKE. The car is conservative but I appreciate the warning. At least now I know what those chirps mean.

Interesting. Did you never get the word BRAKE before? I've seen that a few times in that situation...(Build date 11/24)
I never saw it before. If you look at the TSB, it was one of the things they were correcting. All of us early adopters have been waiting for things to get corrected. Some of us had given up hope that some of the issues would ever get fixed. Unfortunately it did not give me the EA 60kW credit.

Yeah I don't think anyone is getting the credit. I'm following others for this update. I'm all for SW improvements, but not sure I want to be the first at my dealership. I am going in there soon for free rotation, so I will ask if they know about it. I'm glad Honda is supporting this, but I wonder how many will get it since it's a day at the dealer and so far they aren't advertising it

I am not sure how much better it will make your car since you have a November build. I didn’t see a VIN range on the TSB. It is definitely an improvement for the early builds (May 2024 and earlier). There are likely improvements for builds later than that but at some point there isn’t. I would have appreciated more smaller upgrades rather than one massive one over a year after I bought the car.

As far as the EA credit, I don’t think anyone is getting it either. I raised enough hell that they gave me $100 loyalty credit that I was going to use on the purchase of my wife’s car but I forgot. I guess I will use it on future service charges for either her car or mine. It expires 2 years after issue which is probably what they are hoping for

I finally got the update complete yesterday. My dealer had to call tech line and get some kind of equipment. I had a very early build so perhaps that’s why. I was the first prologue transaction at my dealer I think I got it in May 2024.
My understanding is this software gets everyone up to the 2025 build software.
I’m seeing lots of improvements. My memory seats work like they should, I get that brake message, no more valet mode, the sensors seem much less finicky and there are new buttons in that top control area.
My understanding is there are a ton of under the hood improvements as well - particularly with battery charging and managing thermal load. I wanted to get this done for that reason given all the errors we hear from other owners.
I think the frustration comes from seeing on Blazer and Lyriq forums that GM just pushes these updates out as OTA updates. Meanwhile, we have to take a day (or several ) out to go to a dealer and beg for them to update our cars.

Not sure if this is the most recent software update but my AC has been awful since purchase... Sometimes great but just times humid and gross.

Had the software updated yesterday, August 12. Now the AC is perfect and I'm very happy. I'll look and see if I have any extra buttons

I noticed everybody is upset at how Honda pushes updates...

1) they aren't as familiar with GM software and tools
2) Honda has a motto... If it isn't broke, don't fix it. They wait until there's a valid complaint from the customer so as not to add to the issue.
3) This is just an opinion...dealer network seems strange and not well supported. I bet dealers get stuck with a bill if they can't prove the warranty work was necessary.
4) warranty work does not pay well at all.

@jonarogers are you talking about the dome light button. That is the only new thing I see in controls. It turns on the dome light if you need it

Ah yes, it must just be that one then? I only noticed the layout shifted.
I also have the park assist button on the camera screen when backing up, to turn off the beeps, which wasn’t there before.

Blastoid, from what you have posted my wife's Prologue should have the same update available that you recently had installed correct?

Yes, I work for a Honda dealership but trust me when I tell you the communication from Honda to the dealerships is, how do I put this nicely, far from ideal. The Prologue is basically a GM and the learning curve of how to deal with GM is off the charts complicated compared to the normal Honda techline our service department is accustomed to. That is why I am asking here. I am trying to share as much information as I can. Not only for the public but also with my dealership.

The pic I posted is from my wife's Prologue I would love to have the memory seats working as they should have been since the Prologue was released. It appears this update does in fact fix that issue.

Definitely the update is available for your wife’s car. It has only been since Friday, but I have seen no ill effects of the update. I don’t think I have had any glitches since which is rare over a few days not to have even a minor glitch. wait, there has been one. The clock is a bit fast still but by seconds and not minutes.Your service department should be able to confirm.

My update did not go as well. The dealer made two attempts that both failed. They are going to try again Monday.
I’m going to pass along the information you mentioned above that maybe the vehicle wide update needs to be done first. Thanks!
Maybe they did not have the second part of the update? The biggest issue is they don't have enough Internet speed to successfully download the update in a timely manner. Also someone stated that you need to bring your own USB drive. My sealer said that's hogwash.

There is a lot more than the Valet mode being removed. My memory seat works as it should. It appears that the sensors are less sensitive. I can back out of my carport. You would have to look at the Job Aid and the TSB in detail. To me, the car seems overall better
I got a call yesterday from service. They downloaded both parts of the update, (it will fail without the second part), and tested it and it works.
I have an appointment Tuesday for a second attempt. The service tech told me that the update is for all 2024 Prologues, regardless if they show valet or not.
I think there's a lot of false info out there, as I never heard of the second part of the update. So we will see what happens Tuesday. I just hope that it doesn't break something while trying to fix another. My Prologue is perfect with no issues and everything works. The only issue I had was a faulty 12v battery.

The second part of the update is actually the first part and is detailed as a requirement in the TSB.

As far as what vehicles it covers, that was a guess I know on my part. Guesses are like rumors, they are based off of lack of detailed information. I really don’t hold much stock in either even when I am the one making the guess. I GUESS for the early adopters there are more fixes than later 2024 copies since we had more to fix. I am not sure how much a November 2024 build, let’s say, is going to be fixed but there may be some corrections. I don’t drive one of those.

I got my tires rotated, a little late (8800 mi) at the dealer today and talked with the service manager about the update. He wasn't aware of it, not surprised I guess. During the purchase process, my salesman noted that the service manager wasn't "an EV guy", and the manager offered that during our conversation. Not really negatively, just matter of fact. He did say he drove it locally and was impressed. Anyway, I did show him the TSB on my phone, and he quickly reverted to the usual "you have to have one of he items" etc. before they would do it. I offered that was really only partially true in this case, since how can you know if there's an improvement to the AC, or the charge curve, without being told? He said that the Prologues there were not that bad (service-wise) and that they had done one USB-based software update recently, but he didn't know if it was for this update or not. We'll see how it goes, the service advisor seemed more on board. I can get my annual inspection starting in October, so I will probably wait until then.

The easiest thing to point to is the Valet Mode showing up, if you have it. Easily verifiable and listed in the TSB. Otherwise, I’ve found complaining of the sensors applying braking too aggressively helps bc it’s difficult to prove that’s not the case and it’s a safety concern so easier to justify a fix.

Yeah, being a November build, I don't have valet mode, I see the BRAKE graphic already, my memory seat works properly, etc. So those were fixed on the line. I haven't had the screen black out yet. I want the "improves" categories, especially since someone noted the AC is improved. I think it's meh. Functional, not cold. Like what exactly is "Improves UI by adding virtual controls"? It's as non-descript as some of the updates I get in my Mach-E.

It is like I mentioned, there might not be a lot for a November build. You could call the helpless line, ask them to get you up with someone who knows about the upgrade and you might get a call back in a couple days with useful information.
