I haven't placed any reservation or pre-order with a dealer yet. But when I do I need them to be completely clear about whether or not they'll honor the MSRP or add a markup. If they don't give me that info I'm not doing business with them.

Curious if anyone here recently pre-ordered and took delivery on a Honda. Did this preclude the dealer from adding market adjustment?

It (markup on ordered vehicles) happened all the time over the last year. Kia and Hyundai dealers in particular. Dealers were adding markup anyhow, even with "assurances" to the contrary. Honda like Kia does not build to your specific order, its the luck of the draw when your spec'd vehicle arrives at the dealer. I'm going to try and get a GM level sign off on MSRP if I place an order.I haven't placed any reservation or pre-order with a dealer yet.
