So I purchased a Prologue Elite and within my first week of ownership SO many issues were found with the vehicle. The main one being 500 miles into the car the high voltage battery needing replacement!! The battery is on back order and now I am out of my brand new car for no one knows how many months. Anyone else have had similar issues?? Should I wait for the battery replacement?? Or should I try to switch to a new Prologue if allowed through the dealership and hope for no problems??
Help!!

Some of the issues that occurred day after pick up...
1) NO settings changes would hold. I would change a setting, leave the menu, go back into the menu and it reverted back to what it was on. (Fixed)
2) Ambient lightning on left side of vehicle wouldn't work and couldn't change color of ambient lighting. (Fixed)
3) Welcome flood lights on trunk and side mirrors wouldn't illuminate when approaching. (Half Fixed: Trunk one illuminates but side mirrors still do not.)
4) Alignment was WAY off and way different than my test drive. (Attempted to fix and still is off center.)
5) Key card on Elite trim wasn't working (Still not fixed, waiting on new key card to then be reprogrammed.)
6) High voltage traction battery is faulty and needs complete replacing after 500 miles on the car. A red car icon with an "!" next to the range came on and means propulsion method failure. Awaiting new battery to ship from Mexico but is on back order. (Not fixed.)

If you haven’t already, I would contact Honda customer service and have them create a case on your issue. The problem is that the car warranty is from Honda and the dealer won’t have much latitude to do anything but replace the batteries. Let Honda know you are not happy with the wait. You should understand that you are not “ratting“ out your dealer and if it doesn’t get you a new car, it might just get you a new battery a little sooner. At the very least it can not hurt your case. Ask your dealer from the phone number and let them know you are going to call them, they usually are glad to provide you with the information that you need.

What is your experience with the service department so far? Are they wanting to be helpful but their hands are tied?

I ask because I have a colleague who has a Cadillac Lyric (same platform). He has had it in the shop frequently. He says they seem to have an attitude like they don't want to have to deal with it.

I saw this service red exclamation light briefly yesterday and now today is steady on. I will have to reschedule Service. I am also waiting for a new electric port since my is faulty per Dealer. My car hashad issues with the right side Mirror that was not working. I already got a loaner for that and it seems fixed. I have a prologue elite 2024

As an FYI on this thread - I had to take my car in for this error on 8/23. They tested and informed me they would have to order a new battery as something had shorted, that the batteries were backordered, and it would likely take a month or so to fix. I just got the call today that the battery came earlier this week and its installed and ready for pickup tomorrow. Hopefully others w/ this issue have been able to get this cleared up quickly as well.

They just called me saying the battery came in last week and the replacement, testing, and calibration has been completed! My car is also ready for pick up. I'm surprised Honda/GM haven't done a recall for the battery with how many cases there have been of modules going bad so early.
Hopefully all the new replaced batteries have an update or something to remedy this issue.

UPDATE: I got the car back on September 14th. So it took about 6 weeks for the battery replacement. Within that time they fixed all other issues with the vehicle. All the lighting works, alignment is straight, and key card was working. But now the key card isn't working again (third time is has stopped). So far battery has been fine and getting estimated range accurately. Also at the dealership there was a software update so they installed that. They stated the update didn't change anything the driver would notice, just deep software within the car, but this update is what fixed the welcome puddle lights on side mirrors.

Did you turn in the car to the dealership? Is it drivable and does it charge? I probably wouldn’t take it on a trip but if the car will basically function, I would keep and drive. If it isn’t drivable, hopefully they have given you a loaner. I would ask for a Prologue but they will probably give you a used CRV

When the propulsion error light came on and I brought it to the dealership they scanned for the codes. They got one code saying module 9 was bad. And another code saying two other modules in addition to number 9 being bad. So out of caution they replaced the entire battery since they didn't know which code was accurate.
But yes, did confirm with the master tech that if only one module was faulty, they would have only replaced that one module due to the Ultium platform.

Hey everyone, unfortunately, similar issue for me.
I have a leased Prologue. Picked it up on a Monday. By Friday, the passenger side window wasn’t working. Dropped it off, and they had it in the service department for two weeks. Picked it up on a Monday. The next Tuesday (last week), I went to get in it, and the battery light came on. Brought it in, and they said today that the battery needs to be replaced. The service manager told me it would be anywhere from three weeks to twelve weeks on the battery. At this point, I’ve had my car for two weeks, and they’ve had it for three. I really want Honda to take it back, and either swap it with a new one, or just give me my down payment back so I can buy something else. Has anyone had any luck dealing with Honda? I don’t want to be driving a loaner for the next 12 weeks after having my can for only 2.

assuming you’re from NH your state lemon law says if the vehicle has been out of your possession for 30 business days you can request a buy back/replacement .

That was our problem too! After lots of tests, the dealer found issues with the temperature valve actuator / HVAC. Once they were able to get valve actuator codes to clear, Honda corporate tech line told the dealer to ‘ignore for now unless code returns.’ But thankfully the dealer persisted and discovered it needed to be recalibrated — so now our heater works very well! Maybe ask your dealer to try that? They can call the service department at Lynnwood Honda in Washington state if that would help…

HEY GUYS ! I have a 2024 Touring just got monday 1 day in crap starts......... 250 miles later and the red car icon with ! comes on after i charged it at my home since i got my 240V installed. I used the Honda portable charger. It's working just fine no faults pop up when you start oir drive just the service due soon light. Ran the diag from ONSTAR and found code : P0D5C - battery conditioning system issue. I used it at fast charger and regular EVGO chargers and no issues then issue at my home charger from Porsche. The dealership came and picked it up from me yesterday nd gave me a HR-V. Has anybody had this issue? They havent looked atit yet due to them being busy.

Looks like I am joining the club. I have a touring but with 5k miles on it. The error showed up one day and went away the next. Still dropped it off and was told I would get a loaner because they aren’t quite sure what they need to repair but believe it will be the battery. Do we need to report to Honda? Sounds like this is becoming a common issue.

Don't stress too much just yet. Sometimes it turns out to be a relatively simple issue that takes a couple days to fix. And yes, sometimes it's the full battery. If PNW = Pacific Northwest, we're in Seattle and can vouch for the dealer at Lynnwood Honda going the extra mile to figure things out. Ours looked as bad as a battery replacement and turned out to be an HBAC valve calibration. If you can get a loaner on the same day as drop-off... take a deep breath and stay positive for now.

(And I'm confident Honda knows all about this issue... and whoever suggested partnering with GMC is probably sweating their job security). 😉

Is there a class action lawsuit against Honda for the 2024 Prologue? The battery failed on my brand new EX vehicle with just over 500 miles on it. It’s been in the shop since Jan 15. I’m told the part won’t even arrive at the dealership until Feb 10. Honda Care has done nothing. Originally I was assigned a case manager. After an initial appointment, they said they would investigate. We set up a day and a time for a follow up call. They never called back. They are not returning my calls. Everything just goes to voicemail.
