Looks like I am joining the club. I have a touring but with 5k miles on it. The error showed up one day and went away the next. Still dropped it off and was told I would get a loaner because they aren’t quite sure what they need to repair but believe it will be the battery. Do we need to report to Honda? Sounds like this is becoming a common issue.
Don't stress too much just yet. Sometimes it turns out to be a relatively simple issue that takes a couple days to fix. And yes, sometimes it's the full battery. If PNW = Pacific Northwest, we're in Seattle and can vouch for the dealer at Lynnwood Honda going the extra mile to figure things out. Ours looked as bad as a battery replacement and turned out to be an HBAC valve calibration. If you can get a loaner on the same day as drop-off... take a deep breath and stay positive for now.

(And I'm confident Honda knows all about this issue... and whoever suggested partnering with GMC is probably sweating their job security). 😉

So I purchased a Prologue Elite and within my first week of ownership SO many issues were found with the vehicle. The main one being 500 miles into the car the high voltage battery needing replacement!! The battery is on back order and now I am out of my brand new car for no one knows how many months. Anyone else have had similar issues?? Should I wait for the battery replacement?? Or should I try to switch to a new Prologue if allowed through the dealership and hope for no problems??
Help!!
Is there a class action lawsuit against Honda for the 2024 Prologue? The battery failed on my brand new EX vehicle with just over 500 miles on it. It’s been in the shop since Jan 15. I’m told the part won’t even arrive at the dealership until Feb 10. Honda Care has done nothing. Originally I was assigned a case manager. After an initial appointment, they said they would investigate. We set up a day and a time for a follow up call. They never called back. They are not returning my calls. Everything just goes to voicemail.

My battery replacement took six weeks.

Although some have stated they have had a positive experience with Honda Customer Service. I, and apparently many others, have seen them primarily deflecting, delaying and otherwise going through the motions of providing a service with little communication

That’s been my experience so far too. We set up a specific time and day for a follow up call. Honda Care never called, and hadn’t responded to at least five voicemails that I have left asking them to contact us. Another representative wouldn’t provide me with an email address at which I could contact our case manager. Our family needs Honda to provide a replacement vehicle while the Prologue is in the shop. But so far, nothing. Deflecting and delaying is right. Thank you for your reply.

You have a shit dealership if they have not provided you with a loaner. The positive side about that is the clock is ticking on them. Become familiar with your state’s lemon law. Make sure if there are any notifications that you have to make, that you make them

A bad battery does not constitute a class action lawsuit. Even a number of them does not.

Unfortunately, as @Blastoid notes, your bad experience starts with the dealer.

Thank you for your reply and this suggestion. So far neither the dealership nor Honda has stepped up to provide a loaner while it was in the shop. If they had, I would be a lot less frustrated than I am.

Hey lucky me, I got to join this club today! 500 miles in, the app starts harassing me about "charge aborted" and by morning stops reporting data completely, and the red car was on. Take it to dealer, the warning had gone off but the app still unresponsive. And the damned battery is on backorder.
Me too. Battery replacement needed at just over 500 miles. Did Honda provide you with a loaner while it is in the shop? We’ve been without the Prolgue for several weeks now and, so far, neither Honda nor the dealership has provided one for us.

Sorry for your frustration. I’ve had 8 Hondas and multiple different dealerships. But this Prologue experience has shown me there are some really crappy dealers out there. I guess I was unaware and fortunate to have worked with good dealers.

Mine have given me loaners for previous recall work. Likewise My CRV had to have fuel injectors replaced at 6000 miles and they gave me a loaner for 2 days.

Hey everyone, unfortunately, similar issue for me.
I have a leased Prologue. Picked it up on a Monday. By Friday, the passenger side window wasn’t working. Dropped it off, and they had it in the service department for two weeks. Picked it up on a Monday. The next Tuesday (last week), I went to get in it, and the battery light came on. Brought it in, and they said today that the battery needs to be replaced. The service manager told me it would be anywhere from three weeks to twelve weeks on the battery. At this point, I’ve had my car for two weeks, and they’ve had it for three. I really want Honda to take it back, and either swap it with a new one, or just give me my down payment back so I can buy something else. Has anyone had any luck dealing with Honda? I don’t want to be driving a loaner for the next 12 weeks after having my can for only 2.
I would go through the lemon law for your state. I'm going through process now myself.

If you haven’t already, I would contact Honda customer service and have them create a case on your issue. The problem is that the car warranty is from Honda and the dealer won’t have much latitude to do anything but replace the batteries. Let Honda know you are not happy with the wait. You should understand that you are not “ratting“ out your dealer and if it doesn’t get you a new car, it might just get you a new battery a little sooner. At the very least it can not hurt your case. Ask your dealer from the phone number and let them know you are going to call them, they usually are glad to provide you with the information that you need.
I’m waiting 2 months now for a bumper. I had the car for 2 days and was hot from behind in January. Part was supposed to be in in March now they say it will be in in April! I’m trying g to get a loaner from GMC because the insurance won’t cover rental anymore! Can I try for a new car??

Many of the Battery issues turned out to be a coolant hose but the techs didn't know and though they need a whole battery. The error code was the battery but caused by a coolant hose. People still learning this car. Sad because its such an easy fix....
