Did you get your prologue added to the Tesla app (with VIN)? That’s the key.
I just went to the charger station the app showed me that it would accept my car, selectEd the port on the app and plugEd into the car. A few minutes later it was charging. I’m not going to use these chargers a lot as they are twice as much as I pay at my condominium complex private station. Also Evgo credits are still available . All of this testing was research to check out how and if it works. Going forward when on a road trip we’ll have the option to charge at Tesla when others are not available.

Well today I finally got around to testing out my LexTron adapt. It works! I’ve been going back and forth with myself about how it was going to work and just how to understand the Tesla app and which stations would accept my car. After going to a Tesla supercharger that was on the app where I knew to location ( not knowing that not all stations will work on my car ) Onstar was helpful with understanding where I was getting confused. After the location was found and the app in front of the charging port I plugged into my car and BINGO! All went well. Had to move to another port as I somehow managed to cancel the session by turning the car off than back on during the charge session. Don’t do that!
What model LexTron adapter did you get? When I look for NAC adapters all I see are Tesla (NAC) to CSS?

I put in my Acura ZDX in the Telsa app and very few non private chargers showed up. Maybe not fully open to Honda/Acura yet.
I found the Lectron Tesla Supercharger (NACS) to CCS Adapter | Vortex Plug | 500A | 1000V at Lectron Tesla Supercharger (NACS) to CCS Adapter | Vortex Plug | 500A | 1000V is this what you were using?

I recently got a survey from PlugShare (app) and they entire thing was about charging non-Tesla vehicles at Tesla chargers.

some was about feelings of Tesla brand (and Elon, in particular) but also fact that Tesla superchargers were designed for Tesla vehicles and many other brands don’t have charge ports in similar location.
Just thinking about it the location of the charging port for Tesla is appropriate given who the CEO is.

Hi @dbourne, welcome to the forum! It sounds like you've been on quite the journey with the Acura ZDX and charging options.

Have you had a chance to test the Lectron adapter with any specific charging stations? If so, how was your experience? Are there any particular charging networks you’re looking to access that you find challenging with your ZDX?

Hi @JDMEV. I don't have an adapter yet. I'm planning ahead for a 'possible' trip across North West Texas. Last time, I saw a Buc-ees with 12 or so Telsa chargers. I thought it would be useful, essential to have access to these or other chargers. On earlier trip with the CRV getting petrol was a challenge in some parts.

We have some slow but free Volta chargers at a local mall. I just plugged in was OK. Also Electrify America chargers at the local Walmart. Not free but fast. The statinon took my the 'card' on myApple Watch without issue.

I'm exploring options with different 'brand' of charger before I get my home charger.

It's pronounced "Lectron" and you can find that NAC to CCS adapter on Amazon for $249 USD.

I'm currently researching the Prologue as I might get it next week and getting out of the Honda HR-V. Supposedly Honda will be releasing one by the end of the year? If so, maybe hold out. Otherwise try the one mentioned above. I have a few Tesla chargers in areas I am in usually. There is one super close to me, and the adapter might be worth trying it.

I entered my Prologue in the Tesla app, asked it to show me chargers nearby and it only showed me 2 stations. I know others near me that were not listed, so perhaps Tesla is indeed only showing stations that they have open to Hondas.

Who knows. I have no need to pay Tesla prices for charging, but would be convenient if on the road.
I was wondering about this as well. If the stations shown via plugshare show that they are NAC plugs, then the Lectron should be able to connect to them as advertised. Otherwise, the one location in the app closest to me was 17 miles away. Which isn't ideal obviously.

I am doing a bunch of research as I am possibly buying a Prologue next week. Chargepoint sucks in terms of speed, EVgo is minimal where I live, which only leaves Electrify America as the only decent place to charge. The adapter would open up closer stations near me.

you won’t be able to use your Lextron adapter now, it won’t work until Tesla opens their network. You can charge at a Tesla supercharger if it is a Magic Dock.

Also spelt Lectron ;-) I was using the spelling from an earlier post. I found finally Lectron adapters at Amazon and maybe the one you mention at the Lectron website (Order EV Charging Adapters | 1-4 Day Shipping - Lectron) for USD$199.
There was a nice video review on the Lectron site...
It seems some of the newer Tesla chargers take the J1772 plug...but not all.
Cross country driving is going to be an adventure.

You know, I thought a 900 mile trip I took was going to be hairy. It really wasn’t. I did spend more time stopped charging than I thought I would. Actually in hindsight, I probably should have done more planning than just let Google maps tell me where to charge. It did have me charging in the boonies twice. The first time, it worked. I wasn’t as lucky the second time but I had plenty of juice to get me to a large city with plenty of options. A third time it was going to have me charge in the boonies but I opted to charge another place that I was confident had a reliable charger.i would plug in your location in your car and see where Google maps is going to recommend recharging and then do a little homework using plug share. Google maps is pessimistic which is a good thing. You may want to refill early or possibly later than recommended just keep in mind that your range is reduced 10-20 percent if you have a lot of highway driving and up hill work.

Thanks for the 'encouragement' ;-) I have a shorter trip, about 260 miles, there and back that I should do as a practice run. I have 5-6 apps with charging information and plenty of possibilities along the way. Charger availability, speed and condition are interesting variables. Also, charging between 20 - 80% means the comfortable range is about 170 miles.

Welcome to the forum @saintjules are you cross shopping the Prologue with any other EVs?

DC chargers near you shouldn’t be chargers you use. The only way owning an EV makes sense is charging at home. What you want are DC chargers on any long trips you take. Personally, I would define a long trip as anything over 200 miles round trip. Anything 200 miles or less round trip should be able to charge at home.

Have you been considering any other EVs or just interested in the Prolouge?

Curious to hear your results. Many have reported “it won’t work” even with an adapter Because Tesla won’t let you enable charging in their app at those locations.

good luck!

New Prologue owner here (2 weeks in and loving it). I was wondering the same after last night not being able to charge at a Tesla Supercharger station (despite having the Lectron NACS adapter).

It showed up as an option with ABRP (thankfully they FINALLY added the Prologue), but obviously they've jumped the gun on what SHOULD be available and what really is. Google Built-In in the Prologue didn't show the SuperCharger as an option (but I'm not sure that it knows I have the adapter?, even though I listed NACS as a plug my car takes in my phone's Google Maps).

As far as I know, hardware-wise, it should've been compatible, but I suppose they're still negotiating with Elon? (additionally frustrating that they're trying to keep it exclusive to Tesla when we ALL paid hard earned tax money to that dude in subsidies... but I digress)

Has anyone tried lying to the Tesla app to say you have a Mach-E or a Rivian? I assume that wouldn't work since it would know it wasn't as soon as you plugged in? Don't know. Any info on which chargers do work? Or when the rest/how much of the rest will become avail?

Thanks and happy driving!

The only thing that I knows works are stations with Magic Docks. If you plug your details in the Tesla app, it should show you which ones work. Charging at a Tesla charger is expensive. Best to charge at home. I am almost afraid to ask: did your dealer go through the charging options and did you select either A or B?

Use the Tesla app. It will show you which chargers have magic dock.
