So it wasn’t just any Tesla Supercharger but one that their app said would work, correct? There are some that are identified as NACS rather than Tesla only. Good to hear that it worked. What was the charge experience? How long for what SOC?
Hi, I am considering leasing a Prologue very soon.
My main question: Does it have access to any Tesla SuperChager? Or only the magic doc ones?
I read somewhere online that they are working on that and there is an adapter that will let you charge at any Tesla Supercharger location, and that the 2025 models will have access to the Tesla network without an adapter.
I can only afford to lease the 2024.
I never owned an EV so charging is a big concern.
Thanks

You have access to almost all (about 90%). Once GM got access, Prologues found they could charge with an adapter, like the Lectron Vortex or A2Z Typhoon. You will need to setup the Tesla app and (for now) add your vehicle as a Blazer EV with NACS adapter.

Will you have a home charger installed? Do you do a lot of long highway trips? More than 90% of all EV owners charge at home “the majority of the time”. So road charging should be a Concern, but not a large- depending on your driving habits.

I'm very disappointed in Honda for not doing the right thing and making an arrangement with Tesla so we can charge our cars without some acrobatics and work a-rounds.
I have had a Tesla account for nine years and it works great with my Tesla. I haven't had the same experience trying to charge my Prologues with it.
I listed my "other EV" on the Tesla app and went down to the Super Charger station near the house, no joy, it didn't work, nothing. But the guy next to me was charging his new Chevy Blazer with no problem.
I went to the Chevy dealer and bought an adapter and back to the S.C., no joy.
I went home and downloaded the Chevy app to my iPhone and registered my Honda as a Chevy and the app found my VIN in the Chevy data base and completed the registration. I returned to the S.C. and tried to start a charging session and all of the display windows in the Tesla were blank! Still no joy.
Removed the Chevy app and listed my Honda on the Tesla app on my phone (as a Honda) and it allows me to charge at one of four "destination chargers near the house but not close enough to make it worth while to use the charger, destination charges are too slow; but NOT at a S.C.
So, If I'm out on the highway where there are no destination chargers near by I may be able to use a S.C., or maybe not?
VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA FOR NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING!

honda was already in line for Tesla charging, and they just got notice that Tesla is adding them. Honda did everything they could and it’s moving forward.

you didn’t setup the Tesla app correctly. I added mine to the Tesla app and it worked, first time. You don’t need a Chevy app. I have hundreds of Tesla chargers available to use.

In the Tesla app just add a new vehicle "Chevy Blazer EV" with NACS adapter and you're in business. Yes, you must have an NACS adapter like the Lectron Vortex.

Not sure why you’re peeved by this - Tesla won’t allow you to even request access unless you have an EV in production. When the Prologue came out there were already others in line ahead of Honda, so they had to wait.

@Marty heres how you do it, step by step.

For those who get the Lectron Vortex, the website says $249 is the regular price but I believe on sale at 189 and a 15% off coupon code. Is the “sale price” just a gimmick? Seems to always be 189-199 direct and elsewhere. Just seeing what people paid if they don’t mind sharing and if it seems worth it to jump on it if the 189 and 15% off is still there that was yesterday.

YES: $189 with or without discount is common price

Thanks as always for your insight. I’m debating about jumping on it now with the extra discount as I doubt it can get much better and don’t expect Honda to provide for free with access. It’s not that I have an immediate need but would be nice to have. I certainly would have appreciated having it on my road trip a few weeks ago I posted about.

I did the same. Bought for $189 and put in my trunk. It’s always in car if we need it.

I also paid about $190 for the lectron vortex recently. Used it last weekend for the first time. Worked flawlessly at a supercharger in PA. Found it very easy to both plug in and remove the Tesla plug. I put the adapter into the car first. Got the battery from about 40-85% in 28 minutes, and it was pretty cold out.
